Over the last few years one of the most popular sub-sectors of the supplement industry has become the natural health and herbal category of supplements.
This trend has emerged as a reaction to the chemically-infused supplements that are stereotypically used by athletes or individuals trying to lose weight. Some of the negatively stereotyped categories include both testerone boosters for men and estrogen supplements for women.
By contrast, the premise and popularity behind herbal supplements is that they use only all-natural ingredients. Many of them focus around a category of greens known as superfoods, and include natural antioxidants or other cleansing chemicals.
The primary point to watch out for with any of these types of supplements is that even though they may be all natural, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they are right for you as an individual, nor will they even help you achieve your goals.
While it is true that, as a generalization, natural ingredients have a better chance of helping you meet your needs than chemically synthesized ingredients, that logic cannot be generalized to all natural pills and supplements.
Whenever you take any herbal or natural supplement it is extremely important that you understand the full impact of the additive you are using. Some, like green teas and other herbal remedies, are clearly safe for most users, while others, which include extracts that are derived from original ingredients, such as garcinia cambogia or other “unnatural” “natural” supplements, can be detrimental to your weight loss program or even your total health if not used properly.
